A320NEO project.

NEO (New Engine Option) is modification of A319, A320 and A321, which includes the new engine installation (Pratt & Whitney – PW1100G or CFM-LEAPX).

The complex program of modernization includes the most important elements: engines and pylons (strengthening of construction), wing (changes of structure to accommodate the new engine), fuselage (strengthening of centre wing box), systems (systems customization for the new engine) and etc.

Project content

The purpose of project is junctions modification of fuselage and central section of fuselage (centre wing box, front and rear bulkhead frames), junctions adaptation for new engine for whole family of single aisle airplanes.

New loadings generated by this engine require verification, modification, confirmation and certification of the conducted changes. This work package was a multidirectional project including systems, preliminary and final design development, stress analysis of static loads fatigue and damage tolerances up to production support and certification.

ECAR carries out the stress analyses of center wing box, stress and fatigue re-calculation of fuselage, design and stress analysis of systems.
